The results of an integrated weed management trial at NIAB EMR have demonstrated that mechanical weeding with CLEMENS Technologies equipment is just as effective as herbicide when it comes to vine health and increasing yield.
In a talk hosted at NIAB EMR, Flora O’Brien, from NIAB EMR, and Paul Tuteirihia, from Clemens, the manufacturer of the mechanical weeders used in the trial, presented the three-year IWMPRAISE project findings to the fruit and vine growers in attendance.
Following the presentation, attendees were invited to the research vineyard and orchard to see a demonstration of some of the Clemens machinery we supply to growers and currently have in stock.

Servicing can not only extend the life of your machinery but giving a thorough check over at regular intervals will also reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, as underlying problems are more likely to be identified and resolved.
Our team of engineers and technicians are able to perform in-depth services using comprehensive checklists and the latest computer diagnostics to assess the electrical components alongside the usual wearing parts.
As well as carrying out essential servicing, repairs and maintenance from our workshop facilities at Avon Works, Kent, our engineers are also able to travel to work on-farm, whether you are based in the South East or further afield.
