Temporary Agricultural Workshop Assistant

We are currently seeking a Workshop Assistant to join our family-run team on a temporary basis.

NP Seymour is a Fendt dealer and a UK-leading specialist in the manufacturing, sales and servicing of fruit machinery for orchards, vineyards, hop farms, and soft fruit growers.

We have been proudly supplying the UK fruit industry with specialist machinery for over 50 years and have been a Fendt dealer for 40 years.

Based at our Avon Works premises in Kent, this temporary, full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to join our thriving and established agricultural workshop team.

The role is varied and may include tasks such as assisting with the assembly and construction of bespoke fruit spraying equipment, plus other specialist orchard, vineyard, hop, and soft fruit machinery where required, occasional welding and fabrication if skills allow, and potentially conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on a range of fruit machinery.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience or interest in agriculture, horticulture or viticulture is preferred but not essential
  • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred but not essential
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Reliable, hard working, flexible, hands-on approach and keen to learn

We greatly value our team and, for the right candidate, we can offer a competitive hourly rate for their level of experience and an attractive remuneration package.

This temporary, full-time position is based on a 40-hour working week with an 8am start Monday to Friday. For the right candidate, we are open to adapting this role to be part-time and could also potentially look at expanding this role into a permanent or more long-term opportunity within our company.

If you’re passionate about supporting British growers and want to join a respected fruit industry dealership, please send your CV to Claire Seymour at admin@npseymour.co.uk

Agricultural Engineer/ Technician (Permanent)

We have a full-time permanent vacancy for an experienced agricultural engineer / technician. The role will include servicing, diagnosing, and repairing orchard and vineyard tractors, the majority of which will be Fendt. Our technicians also repair and maintain sprayers and a wide range of other machinery.

The ideal candidate would have an understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems, welding and fabrication skills, be computer literate, and have experience within the agricultural, horticultural or viticultural industries. Training will be given where required.

Work will be carried out both on-farm and at our Avon Works site in Kent, as such a full driving licence is necessary. There is also an expectation of employees to attend on-going occasional training courses for updates on products and sales techniques which may require an overnight stay.

Both our full-time positions are based on a 40-hour working week with an 8am start. Successful candidates would also be flexible and work overtime during the week if needed. We value our staff and are able to offer the right candidate an attractive remuneration package.
