Finance Manager Vacancy

We have a full-time permanent vacancy for an experienced Finance Manager to join our small family business.

The role involves working with our sales, purchase and nominal ledger accounts through to monthly reporting as well as assisting the external Accountants with preparation of the year-end accounts and all compliance, tax and VAT issues.

Your duties would include:

  • Managing the day-to-day customer accounts
  • Managing purchase ledger and preparing payment listings
  • Willing to assist with basic admin tasks
  • Bank reconciliations for GBP and currencies
  • Accruals / prepayments
  • VAT return preparations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain the systems and processes for producing the management accounts for the management team
  • Interpret the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow to give insight on performance of the business
  • Preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
  • Maintain records
  • To assist and work alongside a director in preparation for retirement and eventual responsibility of the business accounts.

Skills required:

  • Excellent IT skills (training will be provided – we use Catalyst and Ibcos Gold software)
  • Able to work efficiently as part of team and also from own initiative
  • Good attention to detail
  • Either qualified by experience, or qualified with a CIMA or ACA/ACCA qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Positive and hands on approach
  • Excellent Excel skills

Parts Advisor Vacancy

We have a full-time permanent vacancy for an enthusiastic individual to join the parts department of our small family business. The role is customer facing and involves ordering, receiving and selling parts and accessories.

Your duties would include:

  • Dealing with customers and suppliers face-to-face and over the phone
  • Dealing with all aspects of sales orders
  • Placing orders with suppliers online and by telephone
  • Unpacking and receiving orders into stock
  • Organising parts within the retail and stores area and assisting with stock control
  • Packing and sending stock via courier
  • Identifying parts using various online and offline systems
  • General admin within the department
  • Any online web shop parts maintenance
  • Understanding and ensuring profitability
  • Department display presentation

Skills required:

  • Excellent IT skills (training will be provided – we use Catalyst software)
  • An understanding of agricultural machinery and the farming industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and operate calmly under pressure
  • Able to work efficiently as part of team and also from own initiative
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths

There is an expectation of employees to attend occasional training courses for updates on products and sales techniques which may require an overnight stay.

This position is based on a 40 hour working week with an 8am start, however the successful candidate would be expected to be flexible and work overtime during the week if needed as well as on rotated Saturdays.

Agricultural Engineer Vacancy

We currently have a new vacancy for an experienced agricultural technician/engineer.

The role will include servicing, diagnosing, and repairing orchard and vineyard tractors, the majority of which will be Fendt. Our technicians also repair and maintain sprayers, a wide range of machinery, and packhouse equipment.

The role will also include assisting in the assembly and manufacture of bespoke-made machinery. Work will be carried out both on-farm and at our Avon Works site in Kent, as such a full driving licence is necessary.

The ideal candidate would have an understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems, welding and fabrication skills, be computer literate, and have experience within the agricultural, horticultural or viticultural industries. Training will be given where required.
